A federal judge has rejected a legal challenge against the major part of Obama Health Care Law. According to the federal judge millions of low income people can get health insurance subsidies whether they buy the coverage through federal insurance exchange or in marketplaces that are run by the states.
Critics said that this law would allow subsidies in only 14 states that have their own exchanges. But the federal judge Paul L. Friedman has said that is absurd to believe this.
“The plain text of the statute, the statutory structure and the statutory purpose make clear that Congress intended to make premium tax credits available on both state-run and federally facilitated exchanges,” according to the judge Friedman.
